Steve Liddicoat

PGA of Canada Head Golf Professional

Steve grew in up Gibsons, BC on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and much like Happy Gilmour he was first and foremost a hockey player and had his heart set on a career in pro hockey, he knew little to nothing about golf until the age of 14 when friends encouraged him to give golf a try. Instantly he was hooked spending any available daylight hour at the Sunshine Coast Golf & CC. As time went on his allegiances to hockey slowly faded and a career as a Golf Professional became more achievable than his dream to play in the NHL. He promptly enrolled at Camosun College in Victoria, BC and graduated from their Professional Golf Management Program in 2005. In 2006, Steve became a member of the PGA of Canada and soon after was offered a job at the Capilano Golf & CC. Over his professional career, Steve has been fortunate to work at some of the best facilities in the Lower Mainland including Richmond Country Club, Northview Golf Academy, and most recently he served as the Head Professional of the Bowen Island Golf Club for three years prior to joining the team at UGC before the 2015 season.

Much like when Steve was younger, many of the daylight hours are still spent at the golf course, but he will be the first to tell you that well he still loves golf, most of his time at the Golf Course is spent working and he doesn’t play nearly as much golf as he would like to. His hockey gear has also been all but retired in recent years as he is not nearly as nimble as he once was. When not at the course, he relishes spending time outdoors, cooking, traveling, enjoying a craft beer, a nice glass of wine, or a good scotch.
